Frequently asked questions

What makes GripFlow One different from regular earbuds?

GripFlow One sits outside your ear canal rather than inside it. Sound reaches you through a directional acoustic path, not by blocking your ear. Your ear stays open so you can hear your surroundings at the same time as your music. No switching, no removing, no compromising on awareness.

Is GripFlow One a hearing aid?

No. GripFlow One is a consumer open-ear earphone for music, podcasts, and calls. It is not a medical hearing aid. It does not amplify ambient sound, require a prescription, or need a professional fitting. It uses bone conduction purely to deliver your audio while leaving your ear canal open to the world.

How is this different from Shokz?

Same core bone-conduction technology, at a fraction of the price. GripFlow One matches the specs that matter most: 13 h battery life, IP68 water and dust resistance, a secure wraparound fit, and Bluetooth 5.4. Engineered and shipped from California, backed by a 30-day return window and a 2-year warranty.

Will people around me hear my audio?

At normal listening volumes, sound leakage is minimal and stays close to your ear. At very high volumes, someone standing directly next to you may notice faint sound. This is true of any open-ear device. Most users find that everyday listening levels cause no noticeable leakage.

Does it work with glasses or sunglasses?

Yes. The wraparound design sits behind the ear, below where most glasses arms rest, so most frames, including sunglasses and prescription glasses, work fine alongside it. Very thick frames may feel snug at first; the fit softens within the first few wears.

Is bone conduction safe for long-term use?

Yes. Bone conduction has been used safely for decades in hearing research and rugged communication headsets. Because sound reaches your inner ear through vibration rather than air pressure sealed in a canal, there is no eardrum pressure buildup. Many people find it more comfortable than sealed earbuds for full-day wear.

Why is the bass lighter than sealed earbuds?

Sealed earbuds trap bass frequencies inside your ear canal, which is what makes them feel "heavier." GripFlow One leaves that canal open on purpose, so you can hear your surroundings. The trade-off is a lighter low end. Most buyers adjust within a week and don't go back to sealed buds.

Do they stay in place during runs or workouts?

Yes. The wraparound fit keeps them secure during runs, cycles, and gym sessions. The 5 grams-per-earbud weight helps: there is less mass to shift around. Customers use them for trail running, commuting by bike, and long gym workouts without issue.

Are they water resistant?

GripFlow One carries an IP68 rating, protected against water immersion and dust. They handle sweat, rain, and splashes without issue. We do not recommend swimming with them, but they are built for real-world outdoor and athletic use.

What is the battery life?

The earbuds last 13 h on a single charge. The charging case extends that to 60 h of total listening time. Most people charge the case once and do not think about battery again for days.

How long does charging take?

A full charge takes 90 min via the USB-C port on the case, the same cable as most laptops, phones, and tablets. No proprietary charger to track down.

How do I control music and calls?

Each earbud has a physical button, not touch-sensitive, for play/pause, skip track, volume, and answering or ending calls. Physical buttons mean no accidental taps from wind, rain, a hood, or a stray sleeve.

Can I take calls with them?

Yes. Because your ears are not sealed, you can speak naturally without that closed-off feeling. Call quality is clear on both ends. Many customers use them specifically for long call days or outdoor meetings.

Do they work with iPhone and Android?

Yes. They pair via Bluetooth 5.4 and work with any Bluetooth-enabled device: iPhone, Android, iPad, Mac, Windows PC. Switching to another device takes a quick re-pair from your Bluetooth menu.

What is the wireless range?

Up to 10 m in open conditions with Bluetooth 5.4. In practice, you can leave your phone in a bag or on a desk nearby without interruption.

What if they are not for me?

Return them within 30 days of delivery for a full refund, no questions asked. GripFlow One is also backed by a 2-year warranty against manufacturing defects. If something goes wrong, we make it right.

Where do you ship from?

Orders ship from California. Domestic shipping is free. You will receive a tracking number as soon as your order ships.
